long time

sorry guys, it's been a while. I've been so busy with school I haven't been keeping up with my blog. Highlights of my week, hmmm, mumford and sons and friends, incredible session, my eyes watered it was so good, misty miller was played and bon iver as well as the live acts which were all there, god I would have loved to be there! I've seen all the bands live separately before except from BBC who i plan to see at their last shows this year, if i get tickets, fingers crossed! I've had so much controlled assessment this week, maths, french, geo, german, spanish, science. it's been hectic! not to forget revising for my mocks, which reminds me, my imaginary followers, that i may not update for a while, obvs i'll try because i love writing this, but i've got loads of revision to do and sixth forms to look round, and I'm sorting out work experience. Talking of which I can't go to BBC Radio Suffolk, they emailed back to say they can only allow over 18s for unofficial work experience which is a shame! God, I have to go already, tea time! Mmmm curry! May be back, see ya later alligator! xx

busy busy busy!

sorry imaginary followers! it's been a while hasn't it! I've been rather busy at school, we're approaching mocks so everyone is getting a wee bit stressed! I've put in 2 more applications for radio 1 work experience. I've also emailed Colchester Talking Newspapers who do a podcast of the weekly news for blind people to access. My grandad uses it and I thought it would be nice to a) give something back, because he loves it and b) get some podcasting experience. It's amateur but I'm really interested and I'd love to help out! the link is here www.colchestern.org.uk/weeklynews.htm if you're interested! I thought it was a great idea. I've also entered in for the BBC's Mumford and Sons show thing, i don't expect to get tickets but it would be awesome if i did! OOH how could i forget! It was my birthday on Monday, 16! Finally! I got some lovely presents, I got a new camera from Mum and Dad because i have my big Nikon i really wanted a digi so i didn't have to lug an expensive camera round to house parties and festivals! They bought me a Nikon Coolpix and it's really good! I also got some perfume, so ysl make up, a few DVDs and the rest money, I'm so lucky! I'm going to use half the money for next years latitude ticket and save the rest! This Saturday some friends and I are going to China Blue Chinese restaurant for Jai's birthday, afterwards we are going to Oxjam at Twist in colchester which should be good, there are quite a few bands there, not sure what to expect. Time is moving on lovers so I must dash and email some people and crack on with some simultaneous equations, whoop whoop! Lucky me! ooh i found an AMAZING artist this week Hannah Georgas, check her out, love love love! Seee yaa! xx (gosh I've been lazy with my 'i's again!) note to self: SORT OUT FLICKR!

alriiiiight?!

haha, blogger's been down again! gawwd! keeping me from my blog! well I had an interesting day today. My year group were on a history trip to the Somme, those who take History GCSE that is and I being a Geographer and REer (!) was left behind with about 4 other girls. I thought it was going to be great, a doss day. Ohhh NO! 'You go to a very hard working grammar school therefore even though you year group may be wading around in trenches having fun you will be here working your buts off' oh thank you head of year! So i put my stack of DVDs in my locker and replaced them with a More Maths text book. First lesson: GCSE PE, attendance: 1 (me) Second Lesson: Geography, attendance: 3 Third Lesson: English, attendance: 4 Fifth Lesson: Critical Thinking, attendance, 2 Last Lesson: Maths, attendance 4. Oh yes, well worth my time. The nicer teacher let us lounge about and have a chat. But good ol' Mrs Cura had us slaving away at Quadratic Equations last period on a Friday, joyus! To put and end to this magnificent day my friend took my ipod home 'by mistake' and now I have to survive this weekend without my prize possession! Not all is bad, I'm watching rugby tomorrow, brilliant! That will last a couple of hours then it's off to French Coursework. Not that I'm looking on the bright side at all, hahah! xo

schooling

Well I've been at school for 4 days now and I'm already stressed! The thing is I have nothing to be stressed about, I'm on top of everything and I'm so organised I'm just getting worked up over nothing. Note to self: MUST calm down! I watched Pride and Prejudice today as we are studying it as our exam text. I thought I must remind myself of it having read it so long ago. Such a delightful book, I really must get round to re-reading it! Well I should be doing my german so I must leave. I have to say my posts have been rather dull this week, come on Laura chin up! I've just realised how posh I'm writing, must be all that P&P!! xo

long wait

ahh finally I can write again! The blogger site seems to have been down for a while so I haven't been able to write. Hmm, what's happened while I was away? Well I went to see The Libertines, they were incredible, actually incredible! It just reminded me how much I love them and their music and there was such a good atmosphere. Because everyone had entered to win everyone wanted to be there, so we all had something in common which I think made it feel very special. It was also incredible when Pete, Carl and Gary all hugged on the stage, the crowd went mental. It was perfect! Ooh I signed up for BBC Blast workshops, Become a Radio DJ or something, if I get it that should be pretty cool. I had to make a new flickr so that's not all sorted yet but when it is I'll hit it straight at you! see you xo

Everyone at v seemed so image conscious! dislike! the line up was pretty poor and the kings of leon were a disappointment! overall i thought it a waste of money! Libertines on wednesday, yes! i can't wait, should be fabulous darling! i need to write an essay, sorry for the sort post my 0 followers! hahaha! much love xo

libertines

OH MY GOSH! I just got an email to say I've got tickets to see The Libertines on the 25th of August! AGHHHHHHHHHH! Howw exciting!? I don't know who to take, I've only got two. I might take Chloe. Yeah, I should take Chloe really! I'll be back.. xo

Sleepless Nights!

As you may have guessed from the title I didn't sleep last night, not a wink! I had my dog at the end of the bed and she slept like a baby. I think it was because of an application form I filled in yesterday. Cut a long story short I put in an application for some work experience at Radio 1 and I know the chances of me getting accepted are pretty minute ( as my family keep saying!) but I just got excited and whilst I was trying to get to sleep last night all I could think of was 'Imagine if.... imagine if.. imagine if..' gosh I'm getting all excited about it now! I tried putting my ipod on to get to sleep and I listened to an audio book my mum had put on for me. The Fern Britton one? Being of the younger generation I never saw her before 'This Morning' and I very rarely saw her on that either! The book was alright and she goes into quite a bit about her depression and what not which I found really interesting, the best bit was that she reads it herself, so it sounds more real coming from her, she's a great story teller! I really fancy reading Chris Evan's book, I've been told it's really quite good, but I HAVE to stop reading auto biographies and read some novels etc! So I keep telling myself, I've been meaning to finish off 'Pride and Prejudice' for ages! Band to listen to today- Blackbird Blackbird! CRACKING band! Much Love xo

Fresh new start!

ok, so I haven't been here for a while, truth be told I forgot my password! Inittially this was for my art but I thought I might expand it a bit! I recently got back from holiday, Mallorca, it was rather fabulous, and I always take a brand new playlist with me which I spend my time listening to! This playlist labbeled 'SMASH!', not sure why, but anyway was quite a big one full of songs I hadn't actually listened to but I had researched to find. I made it a few days before I left so I had to stop myself from listening, which trust me was hard! But I had a few stand out songs, one of which was Field Way ( song for Cameroon) by Spirit Spine, oh my giddy gosh it's brilliant! It features no vocals what so ever just pure synths and sounds! I truly truly recommend it! I'll be off! Much love xo

Starting Out.

Woah, this is crazy. I've never done a blog before. I'm not quite sure what it entitles. My dad, he's mad about this stuff, he has countless blogs and wiki's so I thought I'd see what the fuss is about. Just to introduce myself. I am Laura Parker, from England. At the moment I am 15 and I'm crazy about all things creative. I love literature. I am besotted with music and everything about it. I love looking at art, I've never had the skill of being good at drawing, my hands never seemed to do what I wanted, but I always have so many good ideas that I want to share with other people, so I find myself doing photography, something I am now obsessed with. I have a Nikon D60 camera and it's my best friend, it goes everywhere with me. I am quite interested in fashion aspects of photography and all the other ends of the spectrum. I find nature fascinating so a lot of my photos are of where I live, in a little country village. I don't want to make anything of my pictures, I just enjoy it. It makes me smile. When I am older I would love to work in radio, Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe are my idols. If I could be anything like them I would be the happiest you could imagine! I want to see the world. It's so beautiful it needs to be seen, and I don't want to miss out. Well I suppose that is enough for now. I'll try and get some photos up here if I can work it! Cheers xo
